| Environmental Policy Statement |
This policy statement applies to all members of staff and visitors attending Ross-shire Engineering Ltd head office or sites. Ross-shire Engineering Ltd recognises that its activities impact upon the environment both through its routine internal operations, its infrastructural development, and through its influence and effects on the wider community. It acknowledges a responsibility for, and a commitment to, protection of the environment at all levels. Ross-shire Engineering Ltd will comply fully with environmental legislation. It is additionally committed to continued efforts to;
- Promote environmental management policies and practices at every level of Ross-shire Engineering Ltd;
- Train and increase awareness of environmental responsibilities among management and staff members;
- Monitor and review annual energy and water consumption, setting targets for reducing consumption and eliminating unnecessary energy usage and water consumption;
- Minimise waste and pollution, develop and operate environmentally sound waste management procedures through management/employee awareness of the integrated pollution control systems and technology used by our clients;
- Ensure that all our employees and sub-contractors working on sites are made aware of the need to avoid generating waste, at source where practicable.
- To co-operate fully with our major operator clients in their need to regularly assess and establish targets for reducing emissions, discharges, generation, handling and disposal of waste materials;
- All Ross-shire Engineering Ltd employees whether office or site based, will be expected to provide responsible care for wastage generated, handled or disposed of, including recycling waste materials where practicable;
- Continue to encourage and facilitate modes of transport by staff which minimises the environmental impact; and to apply environmentally friendly principles to the operation of company owned or leased vehicles;
- Promote a purchasing policy which will give preference, as far as practicable, to those products and services which cause least harm to the environment;
- Reduce the hazardous or non-degradable chemicals. Where the uses of such substances are unavoidable, staff will be trained in their handling and disposal and take precautions to minimise the impact of a spillage;
- All waste oil will be collected and recycled through a licensed.
- Work with other local, national and other agencies, as appropriate, to promote environmental policies.
Ross-shire Engineering Ltd will continually improve our Environmental policy and performance by means of regular monitoring and assessing. This policy will be reviewed annually or earlier if working practices or working environments significantly change.
