Project Engineer Makes Strictly Inverness 2024 Final
Neil Pirritt, RSE Project Engineer, competed in this year’s Strictly Inverness on the 10th of May.
The annual Strictly fundraiser brings in substantial funds for the Highland Hospice and the Inverness Ice Centre, two local charities to where Neil is based in our Muir of Ord facility. Since it first launched in 2010, the competition which sees 16 competitive couples being formed from 32 amateur dancers has raised over £2 million.
The couples performed their dances over the course of two nights with the top four couples from each night moving on to the Saturday night final, where they competed in front of Giovanni Pernice, a special guest judge and professional dancer from Strictly Come Dancing.
Neil has been training over the last 5 months to learn his quickstep and lyrical dance routines, which he performed on the Friday night alongside dance partner Aisla Campbell and made it through to Saturday night’s final. Throughout his fundraising, Neil managed to raise an incredible £2,315 and RSE was delighted to support Strictly Inverness for the 2nd year in a row and to be named as Neil’s corporate sponsor for the event.
Strictly Inverness was a spectacular success, raising a grand total of more than £126,500 with around 135 people attending on the night. RSE colleagues were proud to support Neil by watching him perform his dances, with everyone enjoying an amazing ceilidh afterwards to celebrate the event.
“Neil did absolutely amazing and he put everything into his dances and impressed the judges by coming 3rd on the Friday night. A fantastic night was had by all and we are all so proud of Neil as it takes a lot of courage but he smashed it!“
