RSE Sponsoring Redevelopment of the Mid Argyll Community Pool (MACPool)
RSE are proud to sponsor the redevelopment of the Mid Argyll Community Pool (MACPool) in launching a Health and Wellbeing Community Hub for Lochgilphead and the surrounding areas. RSE are delighted to provide a shower facility for the project, and to give back to a community situated in a rural area in which we work.
MACPool is a community funded and owned social enterprise, operated by Mid Argyll Community Enterprises Ltd (MACEL). Situated in the west coast town of Lochgilphead, MACPool is an all-season facility which supports the local community by providing swimming and water-based activities for people of all ages and abilities. Powered by a biomass boiler, MACPool is a green energy and carbon neutral leisure amenity, which acts as a focal point for the town and a tourist attraction for those further afield, with MACPool hosting the annual Mid Argyll Triathlon event.
Since being established in 1996, after the fundraising efforts of local people, MACPool has become a cornerstone for Lochgilphead and the wider community, and has been continuously supported by visitors, locals and businesses alike. Now MACPool are embarking on redevelopment plans, to transform the facility into a Health and Wellbeing Community Hub.
The redevelopment project is set to take place over the summer, and by completion at the end of the year, will feature an all-access community café, a soft play area for young children and a range of multi-purpose rooms for individual therapies. In addition to the Community Hub, the swimming pool will receive an upgrade in improved changing facilities. The redevelopment work being undertaken at MACPool will further contribute to the regeneration of the neighbouring Riverside area, creating an attractive destination for tourists and locals to enjoy.
RSE are delighted to support the MACPool redevelopment project by providing sponsorship, which will be used in the swimming pool improvement plans. RSE’s contribution will be used to fund a modern and fully accessible shower, located within a changing area designed to accommodate users of all abilities.
