Graduates are fundamental in shaping the future of both RSE and the water crisis, and we encourage young people to join our team and launch their career developing innovative solutions that will have a real impact within the water industry. Our graduate programme is designed to equip you with all the skills and knowledge you will need to establish yourself within our business and the wider industry, through a carefully constructed programme designed to accelerate your personal development supported with mentorship and guidance. Our innovative Programme Tracker will empower you to develop your skills and experience as well as track your journey.
The programme runs over a 24-month period where you will be ideally placed upon completion to progress to professional registration via the IET, InstMC, IMechE, IChemE, ICE or another recognised body depending on your background.
During the Graduate Programme, it is the responsibility of the graduates to adopt the RSE company culture, which focuses on the core values of Humility and Teamwork. We actively encourage regular communication between graduates and their colleagues, by organising scheduled events that allow them graduates to network throughout the business and strengthen their engagement within the wider RSE graduate community.
Through attending graduate events, which involves team building challenges, module training and networking opportunities, RSE graduates can form a support network who understands what it’s like to be entering into the modern workplace. The shared experience of the Graduate Programme ensures graduates have access to the advice and continuous support of their peers, helping to develop their understanding of the business and form lasting working relationships during their RSE career.
To develop effectively through the Graduate Programme, our graduates are each assigned a personal mentor who they will establish a strong working relationship with during their graduate role. The mentoring scheme is designed for our graduates to be able to learn from senior colleagues as they are guided through the 2-year programme.
The mentors allocated to the graduates will be someone other than the graduate’s immediate line manager, to allow advice and support to be given in a constructive and open approach. The assigned mentors will be committing their time and effort to the mentoring process and to improving the mentee’s leadership competencies and management knowledge.
The mentoring relationship will also allow the graduate to gain advice in working towards Chartership status in their chosen discipline, whilst achieving appropriate competence and commitment standards. They will gain exposure to their mentor’s specialist knowledge and contacts within the business, to allow the graduate to build up a network of colleagues and further their opportunities for career progression.
