On the 10th – 13th of May, RSE Project Manager Andrew Sutherland will be putting on his dancing shoes and taking part in Strictly Inverness 2023 in a bid to win the glitterball trophy.
Strictly Inverness is an annual fundraising event that raises valuable funds for local charities, Highland Hospice and the Inverness Ice Centre. 32 amateur dancers have been paired up to form 16 competing couples. The couples will perform their rehearsed dances across two nights (Thursday 11th & Friday 12th May) before the top 4 couples from each night will qualify to dance again in the final on Saturday night in front of a special guest judge from Strictly Come Dancing.
Over the next few months Andrew is committed to his dance training in preparation for Strictly Inverness, which involves attending 3 hours of training sessions per week over the next 12 weeks. He will be learning two individual dances with his dance partner, Lindsey Crombie, plus one group dance to perform on the opening night.
RSE is delighted to be supporting Andrew as his Corporate Sponsor for Strictly Inverness. As part of his involvement, he is required to raise as much money as possible through various fundraising events which will be held in the office and within the local community in the run up to Strictly Inverness. The winner of the final will be decided by the combined scores from the judges and each dancer’s fundraising total – so every penny helps!

I wanted to take part in this event as the Highland Hospice is a charity I’ve been brought up helping to raise funds for. I’ve also seen first-hand the amazing work they do and what a difference it makes to people going through the worst of times. It’s also very much out of my comfort zone and it’s sometimes good in life to take that step!
