Our business revolves around the modular off-site construction of water treatment technologies. TTU®s can be used to house anything from complete water treatment works to UV treatment systems and chemical dosing units. Since 2011, we’ve delivered around 60 different TTU® configurations.
The units are made from steel framing, generated by a FRAMECAD TF550H roll-forming machine using light-gauge galvanised steel coil. We manufacture, assemble and test each TTU® in our workshop before transporting it to site for installation.

Featured Projects
Alderney Water Treatment Works (WTW)
We used TTU®s to deliver the UK’s largest ceramic membrane plant built using an offsite modular approach, transporting 70 of them to site in just over 8 weeks. Alderney is an island in the English Channel.
The new water treatment works, which processes 84 megalitres per day, was delivered at twice the speed of traditional build projects.
We were responsible for the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and optimisation of the treatment works. Integrating advanced treatment processes — the ceramic membranes — into standardised units led to significant gains in efficiency, quality and sustainability.
Eela Water Treatment Works (WTW)
We deployed 42 TTUs to the Shetland Islands in northern Scotland for an upgrade to Eela water treatment works, a new ceramic membrane treatment plant. Each modular TTU® made the 24-hour sea journey via the Port of Cromarty Firth to the Sullum Voe Oil Terminal before final road delivery and offload to site. We collaborated closely with transportation partners to manage the delivery.
Dalwhinnie Water Treatment Works (WTW)
One of the benefits of TTU®s is that they are reusable. If a unit is no longer required, it can be removed, brought back to our workshop, serviced, repurposed and put back into service at another location.
A redundant TTU® was removed from Craignure WTW in 2019 and transported to our workshop in Muir of Ord, where it was refurbished for its new purpose at Dalwhinnie WTW. This process saved approximately 19 tonnes of CO2e because no new structure had to be built, and is a great example of circular economy principles in practice.
